Tales of Suspense #39. US 12c. Published by Marvel Comics 1963. Silver Age.

1st appearance of Iron Man. Very rare.
Grade G.
Colouring on pages has preserved well and text is clear to read. All pages present and still supple. I can't see any writing/scribbling on cover or pages. Main problems are tears and tape (see below).
The staples are believed to be original - they look old but well preserved, dark coloured but not rusty.
This comic has been in my partner's collection since the late 60s/early 70s. He bought it second-hand but we have not done anything to it. So all parts of it are at least 47 or more years old.
Main faults:-
Tape at bottom of spine (covering a 1in tear), and on several places on inside cover and across top of back cover
Piece missing at bottom corner of back cover, some small tears at centre of back cover (max 0.5in) & a stamp at bottom
1.5in tear at top of cover at spine
0.5in tear down centre of spine (where an extra staple appears to have been removed)
0.5in tear down spine from top to bottom of staple length. This is the case with both staples, but the pages are still attached to the back cover as the staples are very slightly offset on to the back cover.
Wear and other small tears to cover at spine
0.5in tear to 1st few/last few pages at bottom of spine
0.5in tear to 1st 4 pages at top edge
Some pin-prick holes to odd pages in bottom margin
I am not an expert grader and tend to grade conservatively so as not to disappoint. Please satisfy yourselves as to condition from the photos. More photos can be provided upon request.
Stored and sent bagged. Will be boarded well for transit.
