Original Art To A Superman Daily Comic Strip From 1982 Featuring Supes and Lois and Mr. Mxyzptlk!

This Auction Includes:
SUPERMAN! Original Jose Delbo Pencils and Sal Trapani Inks To The Comic-Strip For 04/13/83.Beautiful Clean Line Art!    This artwork is during a period when Superman was being thwarted by the impish Mister Mxyzptlk, a mischeivous costumed villain.  In this one, the feud between Mxyzptlk and Superman even prevents Lois Lane from being able to enjoy a picnic lunch with her Man of Steel!  Superman, the Man Of Steel, is arguably the most iconic of all heroes, and the most copied, as he is credited with kicking off the original Golden-Age of comics when he debuted in Action Comics #1 back in 1938.
Once again, in recent years, Superman has been immortalized on the big-screen, courtesy of the smash-hit film Superman Returns.  Plus, he's seen on TV's around the globe, in the hit television series Smallville.  The average strip might only have Clark Kent, or maybe a glimpse of Lois or Jimmy Olsen, but this one has Superman in ALL THREE PANELS, along with great depictions of Lois Lane, his eternal girlfriend, and a top villain, which gives this blockbuster piece almost unlimited potential.     Perfectly suitable for framing and displaying, this is about as good as it gets.  Paul Kupperberg, with pencils/inks by masterful team of Jose Delbo and Sal Trapani, clearly (or should I say cleanly?) this is a talented group of individuals, as this boasts superb images throughout!      Great detail work, with Clark shown in all three excellent panels.  In addition, their boss, and in their roles as intrepid reports, as this scene transpires in the offices of the Daily Planet newspaper.  Perry White wants to find out the latest news that has Lois and Jimmy running around the news-room.  This is written by Paul Kupperberg;  It was drawn by the same skilled artist who did loads of comic books for Dell/Gold Key as well as D.C. Comics in the silver/bronze periods, Jose Delbo.    Originally from Argentina, José Delbo has drawn for American comic books since the 1960s. He drew stories with 'Secret Agent Mike Manley' for 'Fight the Enemy', a comic book that appeared on Wally Wood and Samm Schwartz' Tower Comics line in the 1960s. He also contributed to Judge Colt with writer Dorfman. Delbo started drawing for DC in the 1970s. He worked on the 'Superman' spin-offs 'Supergirl', 'Jimmy Olsen' and 'Lois Lane', as well as several 'Wonder Woman' issues. He drew the 'Superman' daily strip in the early eighties. He was also present at Gold Key, drawing for titles like 'Buck Rogers' and 'Doctor Solar', Including lots of their cult-classic titles that were based off of TV shows, like Lost In Space, and horror like Boris Karloff Tales Of Mystery, and much more, along with landmark titles such as World's Finest, by DC Comics, and such cartoon titles as Thundercats and Transformers! Any Supes or Lois or Delbo/Trapani fan would be THRILLED to have the good fortune to possess one of these great original masterpieces of the medium!    See our other auctions, we specialize in rare vintage production art, including other Superman art on ebay now.  What an incredible opportunity, to get multiple days of Superman art, in one fell swoop, and save on shipping to boot.   THIS ARTWORK IS GORGEOUS, WITH NO STATS!   This original piece of comic illustration art would be a great addition to the collection of any SUPERMAN or CLARK KENT or SMALLVILLE FANATIC, or just any Comic-Book fan, or fan of unique original artwork from a simpler bygone era.   This is the ORIGINAL COMIC STRIP ART, which is far bigger in size than a comic book or a newspaper strip.  Much too large for our scanner, this jaw-dropper is 6" x 17", so I took blurry low-res pictures with a digital camera.  I photographed the piece next to an old Batman comic, for scale.  I also took a close-up of that first panel, but it looks washed out in the picture, and crisp and clear in real life. (The digital pictures make the piece appear dull and blurry and drab, when in reality it is bright white, and especially striking in person.)  Wait until you see how tight the inks are on this beauty.    A conversation piece of the highest order, this showpiece features the most iconic character in the field, the oft-copied hero who kicked off the golden-age of comics in the late thirties!  The Man Of Steel starred in another wildly popular big budget film in recent years, Superman Returns, bringing the love of this prototypical superhero to yet another generation of fans around the globe;  And it generated huge sales via DVD and Video distribution, plus all the licensed merchandise.  Superman and Batman are slated for more major films.  Expect genuine unique items such as this to go no place but "up, up and away!"      You really have to see these three incredible panels in person to fully appreciate it!     This actual one-off item was used by DC Comics to produce the entertaining comic strips, which were distributed all over the free world by Tribune Company Syndicates, Inc. in the 1982 newspaper "funny pages".  This art is more than a three decades old already, and you'll find that Superman art such as this is almost nonexistant in the market.   This gorgeous showpiece is the actual original pencils and inks, and none of it is mere "stats" or photocopies, (except the obligatory artist/copyright info, of course.) -- it is especially striking since even the word balloons are hand drawn!  This is all actual original pencils and inks; one-of-a-kind material which would be a great acquisition for any fan of old hero comics.    Extra fresh, bright, and clean.  It looks virtually brand new, so it's obviously been well-preserved so far.  Boasting lots of great details, this would be particularly impressive if it were framed and displayed.  But if wall space is limited, it would also be well worthy of simply storing aside for investment.   We are now offering original art to other vintage comics and strips, with more to come within the coming days and weeks of this one.  Which means this is a rare opportunity for some astute fan to acquire multiple pieces of great comic-art in one fell swoop, while saving on shipping to boot!   Many of you have dealt with us through our ads in CBM, CBG, O.P.G., etc.
(Comic Book Marketplace, Comics Buyer's Guide, Overstreet Price Guide, +...)   We are secure packagers and prompt shippers so expect to be pleased.    This irreplaceable item is the only one of its kind... ~ Buy accordingly.    Great item for original art fanatics, or the serious Superman or Myxzptlk the super-villain buff, or just the investor or fan who enjoys owning true rarities ~ to keep himself satisfied visually, while keeping his portfolio diversified in a most impressive fashion!   As Usual: LOW ASKING PRICE AND NO RESERVE!
