Description

SUPERMAN #140 October 1960THE SON OF BIZARRO by Binder/Boring-KayePresenting a thrilling three-part novel starring Superman and Supergirl as they meet an incredible mystery from the Bizarro world! Bizarro No. 1 and Lois Bizarro No. 1 have a child, the first ever born on Bizarro World, who has super strength like Bizarro No. 1, but he is handsome - a freak by Bizarro standards!Lots of first appearances in this comic. 1st Bizarro baby (Bizarro Jr.?)1st Bizzaro Supergirl1st Blue KryptoniteIn my opinion Bizarro stories are always fun and wacky, but some people hate them. Haters gonna hate. :) YMMV. Any time I could find a Bizarro story, I knew what I was getting, and it was gonna be full of laughs.
This book would easily be FN if not for the 1/16” x 1/4” piece missing from the back cover and just a little too much lower staple stress, so FN- seems appropriate.  It's clean with some spine roll and an acceptable accumulation of spine stress. The inside is much nicer than the outside of the book. A good reading copy for sure, but perhaps this may grade higher than expected?

10¢ cover Silver-Age books are harder to find, because it wasn't long before there was a significant 20% price hike. Hey, back then, 2¢ was significant. 12¢ cover prices dominated the Silver Age during the 1960s and it was right around the time of the next major price hike in 1970 that ended the Silver Age and 15¢ books heralded the beginning of the Bronze Age of Comics.
Provenance: This book has been in my collection for a couple of decades after picking it up at Collector's Comics in Wantagh and has been stored in a pet-free, smoke-free, air-conditioned environment during my ownership. Purchased in New York, traveled with me to Florida and hasn't seen the light of day for quite some time.
