Description

This is the Original Production Art Stats to Spiderman 2099 Meets Spiderman # 1 its a 2 page spread pages 47 and 48 by Marvel Comics featuring art by Rick Leonardi Rare Find! Not original Artwork!  Please read all for info.

What we have here is a Photostats of the original artwork This is also know as a"Stat" and was use in the printing of the Comic.  A "Stat" like this would be made in the event that the art was too small or big and had to fit in such as way that the tread dress (logo, price & Corner box art) would fit correctly on the book. Or as in this case for a Graphic novel and used for making some of the designs in the book, on the back of both pages you have a sheet that indicates what designs to use.  Each page is about 11 by 17 and the are NOT connected.  Please note there are some bumps near on the legs of SM 2099, Looks like dirt or something was under the stat when it was mounted on to the board these are glued down with rubber cement and sometimes things are under the page, this is part of the process. But all in all great pages, Look at pictures!

Would make a great image framed.

About Original Production art:  Production Art , Such As Stats (Photostats), Resized Art Page Guides, Transparencies & Overlays Have Been Lost To Computer Coloring along with Comic Book Color Guides. These is truly a one of a kind items, Many time after the book is published these where toss out, So not many of them are around. This is a sneak peek into how comic books use to be made.

"Stats" or "Photostats" are photocopies of the artwork, and were used in the productions of comic books, were the images may have been need to be resize large or small. Stat's where use for creating covers, Posters, images used in Trade paper backs reprints and toys. It's is also natural for stats to start "yellowing."

Also these pages goes though so many hands for approval there are markers, Pencil or pen marks on it as well as notes, many types of tape, and some times scratch marks, dust, Pin or staple holes, Rubber Cement or paste and some might even be dirty or stained, bent and ripped.
