This is a set of vintage DC Comics. These are the first ever comics issued that are set in the Masters of the Universe world. And this is the first ever appearance of He-Man!
This saga began with From Eternia with Death! This is DC Comics Presents #47 (July 1982). It involves Superman journeying to the world of He-Man.
This was followed by an insert comic, entitled Fate is the Killer (also from 1982). This short comic was re-issued recently with a glossy cover (in a Classics figure pack), and I include this rare re-issue here.
Due to its success, He-Man then received his own mini-series of DC comics ... a 3-issue set including To Tempt the Gods (1982), The Key to Castle Grayskull! (1983) and Within these Walls... Armageddon! (1983).
These comics were issued prior to the TV series, and much that appears in them is unique.
These 5 comics established much of the Masters of the Universe lore ... Having been issued in 1982-3, these are now over 30 years old.
These are all in very good condition. And that's rare for these comics. It's also rare to see all 5 of these initial DC Comics being sold as a set.
I bought the From Eternia with Death! (1982) issue for £50 by itself! Having taken a quick look, there are only two other such comics presently listed on UK ebay (costing between £60 and £100, including postage). That's just for one of these comics.
This set is for 5 vintage comics, plus a glossy re-issue of Fate is the Killer.
All are bagged and carded.
For a collector, these are a rare treat.
