MAD Magazine Trip to England and Russia Kodak Slides by artist Bob Clarke
William Gaines' annual MAD Trips were legendary. Every year he took his artists, writers, and editorial staff on an all expense paid trip if they qualified by the annual submission formula.
These photo slides by MAD artist Bob Clarke feature 1971's Trip to Russia. The box also contains slides from the England leg of the trip.
Here is your chance to own what one MAD artist chose to memorialize on the annual MAD trip.
But the big question you are asking is... are any MAD staffers in these slides? The answer is yes.
1. Al Jaffee is featured in a great close-up in one slide.
2. Lenny Brenner is seen from behind entering a castle.
3. MAD editor Jerry DeFuccio, MAD artist Angelo Torres, and MAD writer Frank Jacobs are seen in one candid shot.
4. The rest are mostly landscapes and attractions that were visited by the Usual Gang of Idiots.
The beauty of these slides is that they are a MAD Magazine Trip as seen through the eyes of artist Bob Clarke.
This is a very rare and unusual item and a great piece of MAD and EC lore. A copy of The Journal of MADness #6 will be included. It features an interview with MAD artist Bob Clarke.
Bid early and bid often...
