Description

MAD MAGAZINE comic #16

Not graded but I'd say a VG 5

As you can see, there is much tanning on the edges of both the front and back cover.   There's tanning on the edges while the majority of the pages aren't so bad.     Tanning showing on outer spine.      Tanning wise, this may be one of the better looking issues in the collection so far. Slight Newsstand grease pencil mark on front cover.  Can mostly erase these off but usually not totally. some very tiny minor tears on a few page bottoms.  Staples oxidation

Can combo post for multi orders.

We have an entire run of Mad Magazines from #1 (1952) to 2011!  Also have a near run of Panics.  It may take a few weeks to get everything up.  50s and 60s issues will be sold individually but most mid 70s will be sold as yearly sets.

Mostly all (with few exceptions) were newsstand copies and not subscription or second hand.  All from one collection.

Burnt Biscuit Books is honored to be working on the massive (and pretty impressive) estate of Sci Fi Publisher, Franklyn M. Dietz.

In late 1956,  he founded the Lunarians, aka the New York Science Fiction Society, which in turn launched Lunacon, a convention that continues to this day.

Among the fanzines he published or co-published, with was Science, Fantasy and Science Fiction, starting in April 1948, Ground Zero, from March 1958 to February 1960 and Luna Monthly. He and his wife, Ann also published books as Luna Publications, including Speaking of Science Fiction.
