Batman #156 (June, 1963)
"The Secret of the Ant-Man" - Batman is away on a special assignment, leaving Robin the task of patrolling Gotham City. He befriends a tiny, costumed hero called Ant-Man whom he mistakenly suspects might be Batman. He later discovers that the Ant-Man is actually a mobster named Jumbo Carson and apprehends him.
"Robin Dies at Dawn" - Batman volunteers to participate in a special military experiment to test the long term effects of isolation on the human psyche. During this experience, Batman suffers a hallucination in which he witnesses Robin being killed on an alien world. The hallucinations persist and Batman is so overwrought that he is incapable of continuing his work. He hands the responsibility of safeguarding Gotham City to Robin.
A criminal cartel known as the Gorilla Gang encounters Robin and abduct him. Batman is forced to come out of retirement to rescue him. The mission emboldens Batman's confidence and he stops having hallucinations.
I try to provide complete and accurate item descriptions. This auction, however, is not one of my own from my personal collection. I am selling this auction on behalf of a friend. I do not have an in-depth knowledge of these comics like I do with my Star Wars comics. I have done some research to make this listing, and I’ve tried to accurately describe the condition. Let me know if you have any questions about this auction specifically. Please try to submit questions to me more than 6 hours before the auction ends.
Here are some general questions that I’ve encountered before; along with my answers
Q) Do you accept any forms of payment other than Paypal?
A) I do accept other forms of payment, but I am not allowed to specifically request them. If you’d rather pay some other way feel free to ask me.
Q) Will you ship outside the US and if so is there a shipping cost?
A) I am willing to ship outside the US. Now that I know about eBay’s Global Shipping Program, I do not like it and will not use it. If you are an international bidder and win one or more auctions, shipping will be the amount it costs me to ship directly to you.
Q) Do you offer any kind of discount for multiple auction wins?
A) I do offer combined shipping for multiple auction wins. In such an instance please wait for me to send an invoice with a proper shipping price. It’s based on weight and size, I’m not sure how many of these older comics can fit in my usually packaging, but for current-sized comics shipping charges are like this:
1 comic = $3.00 shipping for a 1st class (padded) envelope.
2-3 comics = $4.00 shipping for a 1st class (padded) envelope.
4-18 comics = $6.00 for a USPS flat rate padded envelope.
18-50 comics = $12.00 shipping for a USPS flat rate medium box.
More than 50 comics would be shipped Priority Mail, I’d just have to find out the cost of shipping.
Q) Do you offer refunds or returns?
A) If something happens and postal office loses the package I’ll refund the auction (automatic tracking makes that easy enough).
Q) Do you have any sort of deadline on payments?
A) Yes. I require payment resolution within 1 week, otherwise I reserve the right to relist the item. If a payment is received after I’ve already relisted an item, I’ll either refund the payment or send a duplicate of equal quality if I have one.
Q) Do you smoke or have any pets at home?
A) No one in my house smokes; I do have cats.
Thanks for looking, and good luck if you bid!
