According to the NLA catalogue two separate issues were designated No. 40; this copy has the cover story: ‘The Ghost of Windy Hollow’.
Len Lawson was a best-selling Australian comic book creator, commercial artist, photographer and a convicted rapist and murderer. Lawson first came to prominence as the creator of the Australian comic book hero The Lone Avenger, who first appeared in the second issue of Action Comic in 1946. Lawson also created another masked western vigilante hero The Hooded Rider, as well as Diana, Queen of the Apes and Peter Fury.
