These cups are 40+ years old and are in very good condition with a few exceptions. 1) Howard the Duck had some black fading & has been colored in with a black marker. 2) Hulk vs. Wendigo has some discoloration along the rim. 3) Captain Marvel has some slight scratches. 4) Crawling Spider-Man has some imperfections. This grouping of cups are above average in condition with many of them being excellent.

In general, one should expect to pay an average of about $10 per cup (or more) for a large grouping of average condition cups (because of the rarity of certain cups). Cups in better condition (or complete sets) will sell for a substantially higher price. These cups are in ABOVE average condition.

This set was difficult to complete in 1977, because each 7-Eleven stores would get (seemingly random) shipments of cups and I would go to one (or more) stores every day on my bicycle. It took a long time to track down the last few cups to complete my personal collection. This is how I became an expert with these cups. 

This set took me about 2 years to complete, because they are hard to find in good condition.

The COLORS are vibrant and not faded, although these cups are over 40 years old, so most of them are NOT in mint condition. Some of these cups are in near mint condition (swinging across NY city Spider-Man) and the Avengers vs. the Stranger.

(Dishwasher machines would cause fading of the ink, over time. These cups were probably washed, ONE TIME, after the SLURPEE was consumed. This is what we learned, as our old 1972 MLB Slurpee cups from previous years faded BEFORE we ever bought these. Ultra Violet light & sunlight can also causes fading. These MARVEL cups were stored on our closet shelves, because they were VERY special, to us!)

        These 1977 cups represent an awesome era of the SLURPEE cups, in my opinion...because I was THERE! My brother & I had paper routes & we would buy a SLURPEE halfway through our route, every day of that summer! You have to turn the cup to view the entire scene & MARVEL chose killer artwork for each cup!

           These cups commonly had slight printing imperfections, even if they were in MINT condition. These photos show all of the important details. These have NO cracks or DAMAGE that I can see and the colors are just like new. (if these were washed, with soap, the color starts to slowly fade.)

If you see a set that's BETTER than this one....BUY IT!

              A 1977 (mint condition) Marvel Comics SLURPEE set would sell for about $1,000 (if you could find one).
