This auction offers an amazing 1978 Spider-man Playcase set from Ideal Toys. It is a vinyl playcase that opens up to 6 different settings where 20 different characters can be displayed. Each character cut-out has a front and back and comes with a stand. Total 42 parts: Case, instruction sheet, 20 cut-outs, 20 stands. This was the inspiration for the Amsco playset Marvel World that came out in 1975. While this one is not as comprehensive, its vinyl case is a lot more durable than the cardboard in the Marvel World set that is essentially ruined after it is put together once or twice. A sample setting of the interior of the Daily Bugle office is pictured.
Condition: Set is complete with all 42 pieces. Everything is in excellent shape except three items: the Spider-man and Betty Brant pieces have some stress marks, and one of the stands is either chipped or was manufactured incorrectly with some chips to the edges. See scans.
