This is a fun and scarce promotional giveaway comic book called CARSTAIRS GUIDE to BETTER PARTIES and BETTER DRINKS. This promotes drinking whisky made by CARSTAIRS BROTHERS DISTILLING COMPANY of NEW YORK, NY. In particular, it promotes their WHITE SEAL WHISKEY - that's why there's a seal balancing a ball on the cover!

This unusual comic book uses a comic style story to promote the consumption of "adult beverages." While there are many comic books for kids that promote NOT drinking, there have been very few that promote it! Here is a sample of what this wild book contains:

This is great lounge culture period stuff - a great look back at a time when sharing some drinks with friends was not only tolerated but encouraged!

FORMAT:  Standard comic book size, 20 pages, full color, slick cover
CONDITION:  This copy has some wear and some damage but is overall clean and solid. There is a 1/4 inch corner off the upper left of the book - all the pages are missing a corner there. There is one eighth inch of wear at the bottom of the spine. There is a three-quarter inch water stain at the bottom of the spine that goes through the whole book – not bad, see pic. There is some light reading wear to the edges of the book. There are a couple of light bends along the spine. Otherwise this is in very nice clean and solid condition. The inside covers are cream to light tan. The inside pages are off-white.

Some damage, but still a solid copy of a fun 1950s comic book to promote Carstairs whiskey!
