Up for auction are Mickey Mouse Bread cards issued with each loaf of THE NEW MAIER'S LOAF Bread in 1936-1937 Burdick list the series as D52 in the American Card Catalogue. Several different bakeries issued this series as well It was fairly common for the different regional bread makers to issue the same series of cards as promotional premium inserts with their bread. The images and formats generally stayed the same, each company just put their name on the cards. There are 96 different cards in the series in total. Each card features a beautifully illustrated Image on Mickey in some kind of adventure with a caption written below explaining the action on the card. There is also a small copyright Walt Disney Enterprises written on the front of each card. This particular brand version also included a recipe on the back that uses the bread. Each Card measures 2 3/4 inches by 4 1/4 inches approximately. Mixed condition.
